Hereâ??s what Joe Keithley, leader of D.O.A. and founder of Sudden Death Records, had to say about all thisâ?¦
Hey-ya! Hey-ya! Hey-ya! Hello there friends,
I have started a new label called Taboo Records. Like I always said "Be your own boss!" well I guess I am taking that motto to the nth degree, as I am now running two labels! Our 1st label Sudden Death Records has been the home for all of our punk/heavy bands. Taboo will be the place to find some different styles including ska, rock and pop. In essence, â??anything goesâ? with Taboo as we know that cool music can come in many different forms, so here's our chance to branch out.
Taboo Records will be releasing music from some some great new artists in the coming years, starting with Once Just, a great new rock/pop band from Calgary. Once Just was formed by Caleb Cummings and Chris Noble seven years ago. They have toured across North America and released three independent albums. When I heard their latest release â??Stand,â? I realized that these guys had real talent and great songs, so I made Once Just the 1st signing to Taboo Records. Caleb and Chris are joined by Dave Delamont on guitar and Mike Van Doorn on bass.
Once Just has just started recording their 1st album for Taboo at Sundae Sound in Calgary and it is scheduled to be released September 2006.
In the spring of 2007 Taboo will let loose with my new solo CD, it's going to be a real departure from D.O.A. as it will be a roots/ska album. And of course, it will have a lot of fire and passion in it - take my word on this matter.
