Delain April Rain Sensory Records 3.0 Delain's latest effort, April Rain, is a solid album. But its hardly going to set your world on fire. Its your standard Goth Metal fare. The femalevox are dripping with Fiona Apple/ Tori Amos influence as the weave their way through folk inspired synths and big guitar riffs. They manage to break up the monotony a but with some bombastic male vocals. But the guys voice is so big that it tends to dominate everything around it. Becoming hurtful to the sound of things. The lyrics are the usual stories of love lost and finding strength through a veil of tears and all that jazz. The kind of thing that you can image a 14 year old girl listening to as she pines away in her room reading Twilight or Harry Potter.
