Noctiferia has posted the video for the track "Demoncracy" on their youtube page. As far as I know Noctiferia is the first metal band of note to come out of Solvenia. Their sound is heavy but you can still hear tinges of European Industrial lurking around the edges of their music. Luckily for them it seems to work out pretty well ends up with a sound that smacks of early Fear Factory or the more guitar driven tracks from KMFDM. Noctiferia had a heavy hand in making this video with guitarist Igor Nardin handling most of the post-production work for the video. Here is what Igor had to say about Noctiferia's video experience.. "I basically filmed and edited the video myself. Most of post-production was done by a friend of mine I used to work with at MTV. 'Money is your god' is a very memorable chorus, and the video and its greyness sort of represent true colour of money, not bright green but greyish green - dirt and corruption some unleash in order to get it. I had a second visual concept that included basically the majority of world currencies. I did some previews, but it didn't turn out ok, so only intro logo world animation was used in the end." Noctiferia's debut album "Death Culture" is out now on on Listenable Records and you can check out the "Demoncracy" video at http://www.youtube.com/user/noctiferiamusic and www.myspace.com/noctiferia.

Fear Factory vocalist Burton C. Bell and bassist Byron Stroud are teaming up on a new project called City of Fire. The debut album from City of Fire will be released by Candlelight Records and is scheduled to drop on August 24th. Here is what Burton C. Bell had to say about City of Fire....
"City of Fire is the culmination of our life's musical influences. It is a mature approach to a sound that has been lost in today’s music. Do not approach this album expecting to hear the sounds of any of our other bands for this is altogether a different beast. Based in hard rocking groove, psychedelic, and post-punk sounds of the '70s and '80s, this band experiments without restrictions or conceptual boundaries. The world is our palette, and we are using every color to our advantage.” Going off of what Burton C. Bell has to say, it sounds like City of Fire is going to be a pretty interesting project. I always thought the Mr. Bell has one of the more unique voices in Metal, the kind of singer that can scream as well as he can sing. That being said this is an album that I will be putting on my calendar. |
