Infernal Stronghold and Absu Split PDF Print Email
Written by Sameerah

Thankfully these bands haven't split up so I don't have to slit my wrists tonight. Insteasd Infernal Stronghold and Absu will be releasing a limited edition split EP. The album will not be available in stores or online, and you will have to get it at one of ther upcoming East coast shows. Now that I know I won't be able to get my hands on this album I am going to have to rethink not slitting my wrists.

Devils Blood Documentary PDF Print Email

I am loving this trend of promoting bands by putting out mini documentaries.  Well since this The Devil's Blood mini- doc is only the second one I've found I guess it cant be called a full blown trend just yet, but I'm hoping it becomes one. The Devil's Blood mini-doc is eight mintues of blissfull evil as The Devil's Blood founder and front man SL talkes about music, performing live, his sturggles with vice and all other manner of awesome shit. You can check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=tp6hILeDMHE.

In other The Devil's Blood news, Metal Blade Records is going to release The Devil's Blood upcoming album "The Thousandfold Epicentre" on January 17th. This is what SL had to say about the new album:

"The Devil's Blood" are pleased to announce the conception of a new Litter to be cast upon the sacrificial flames of the bullheaded God that resides on the plane of Gehenna. Eleven new children shall pass through His flames to become reborn in Chaos. We have taken eleven months to write and two months to record these monsters and to prepare, attach and inscribe the appropriate sigils, ornaments, chimes and bells upon these younglings before releasing their serpentine malignity upon the world...”

Archaios has a New Documentary PDF Print Email

In a fit of boredom I turned on the tele and flicked on "Headbangers Ball", a show I haven't seen in years. Most of the bands weren't bad, but it was all shite I've heard on the radio a million times, My Dying Bride, Bullet for My Valentine, etc. All fairly solid bands, but lacking in the heart, soul and the raw primal anger that makes metal an amazing, ugly, beautiful thing. It was actually a bit sad. I turned of the tele, with my faith in humanity and dying a little inside. But then I ran across this lil mini documentary on Archaios and my faith in humanity and the metal scene I love so dearly was restored! Yes, they made this mini movie to help promote their new album "The Distant", but seeing a band that loves metal and what they do warms depths of my cold little heart.

It wasn't just seeing them rock the shit out of the crowd that made me dig this little Archaios film, it was seeing Third World Metal up close and personal that I liked. In some ways it's the same story that we've heard come out of Finland, Norway, Poland and everywhere else good death metal calls home. Churches and governments freaking out becuase and band is coming for the souls of their children and other nonsence. Seeing  them claw their way up through the shit is impressive and awesome.

Don't believe me? Check it out over at http://www.metalunderground.com/news/details.cfm?newsid=73427

Things are busy, busy, busy for the grusome twosome known as Black Cobra. In two weeks they will be opening for Kyuss Lives and almost immeadiately after that Black Cobra will be headlining their own tour starting December 11th. Not sure who is going to be taking care of the opening act duties while Black Cobra fronts this tour, but I don't think I care. I trust that Black Cobra won't tour with anyone who is less than awesome. Besides I am am looking forward to hearing the new material from Black Cobra's "Invernal". Which is odd, seeing as I am never generally impressed with Black Crow albums, but I always look forward to seeing them live. Fucked up I know.
