There is nothing better than an album the sounds great and makes you think. Sitting here reading the inside cover of Severe Illusions â??Accomplishments of Leopold IIâ? I find myself wanting to know more about the ugly little man who enslaved and killed millions in the African Congo. What I found after a quick search blew me away; I was enraged and felt ignorant for not knowing anything about this piece of all too recent history. From 1885-1908 Belgiumâ??s King Leopold II murdered anywhere from 10-14 million Congolese people while collecting ivory and rubber. While he did all of this under the guise of trying to teach the inhabitants of the area the art of civilization, Leopold was really out to fatten his own pockets and circumvent Benign and international laws by forcing millions into slavery. The people of the Congo were paid very little for the work the were forced to do for Leopoldâ??s companies, those who tried to fight back or didnâ??t meet their quotas suffered unspeakable tortures or were killed. It took 23 years for the rest of the world to take notice and put a stop to Leoâ??s genocide, still he was never punished for his crimes. He had his companies taken from him and was left alone to live out the rest of his life. After my mini education on Leo and his life I was ill, but I wondered what would make a couple of nice guys like Ulf and Fredrik write an album based on such a horrible little man?

As much as I hate to admit it, in a lot of ways Iâ??m a typical narrow minded American, for example when I think of Argentina I think of Evita Peron and beautiful bronze bodies walking down white sand beaches. Not a bad image but still pretty narrow. However, after hearing Alien Produktâ??s debut Revenge, Iâ??ve come to broaden my view on Argentina and hard industrial as a whole. So much so that Iâ??ve grown curious about what the scene is like in other parts of the world, but more importantly I wanted to get to know more of Alien Produkt. So I decided to have a sit down with resident Alien Ricardo Alien to learn more about Alien Produkt and the scene in Argentina.

One of the first shows I went to when I first moved to the City of Fallen Angeles was Nocturne. Time and the amount of booze I probably consumed that night have managed to push the time and place from my memory, but there is one thing that stands out from that night. That Nocturne put on one hell of a show, putting them in my personal top 10 of one of the best live bands out there today. Since that first show Iâ??ve had the pleasure of seeing Nocturne perform a few more times and each show has been better than the last. The same can be said of their discography; with the release of Guide to Extinction on June 16 rapidly approaching I decided it this was a perfect time to have a sit down with Nocturneâ??s Lacy Conner.

Alright I'm going let you in on a little secret, over the last few months I've become a Myspace.com addict. Like most people I was introduced to the site through a friend and as my friend list grew so did my addiction. Although out of all the vices I may have, my addiction to Myspace.com may be one of the most productive. Since it was there that I ran across photographer Adam Adubich. When I first saw his work I was amazed by how he managed to convey such powerful emotions with such subtle imagery. So much so that I decided I had to share my new friend with the world before he got too big to remember who I am.
